The Order

Information requested from you when placing an order is for billing and delivery purposes. An e-mail will be sent to you once Vintage Guns Ltd receive your order this will confirm receipt of the order and confirmation of the order details, in the form of an invoice. A contract between you and Vintage Guns will only take place once our invoice has been accepted.

Pricing

All UK products offered for sale by Vintage Guns Ltd are priced in Pounds Sterling. Items located in the United States are priced in US Dollars. Occasionally, despite our best endeavours products appear mispriced, however we verify prices as part of our order confirmation email. If the correct price is lower than that promoted we will always charge you the lower amount and send you the product. If the correct price is higher, we will either contact you to advise you and request instructions before dispatch or cancel the order and notify you accordingly.

Postage

Our postage & package costs are set according to Post Office tariffs and are charged ‘at cost’. We have a Trade Account with TNT and charge £40 plus VAT per gun for UK courier and packing each way. Remote collection is £45. These charges increased in 2016 due to policy changes at TNT beyond our control.

Please note we reserve the right to change the postage rates in the case of unusually heavy orders.

Exports

All export sales are final. Guns exported from the UK cannot be returned and we are unable to send guns abroad on approval. It is the responsibility of the buyer to satisfy himself on all questions as to the suitability of the gun for the intended purpose, its quality and condition prior to purchase. We use HGSS as an export agent and all issues arising from export are to be addresed to HGSS. We accept responsibility only for safe delivery to HGSS, who export on behalf of the customer. The customer pays HGSS and HGSS is the supplier of the export service.

Customs

Goods ordered from Vintage Guns for delivery outside the UK may be subject to import duties and taxes, these will be levied once the parcel reaches its destination country. Any charges for customs must be paid by you,the customer, we have no control over these and do not know what they may be as customs policies vary from country to country. Contact your local customs officer for full details and regulations.

Gun Purchases

Vintage guns Ltd accept no responsibility for damage to persons or property resulting from the use of any gun, rifle or firearm sold lawfully to any person. Most of the guns we sell are antiques and should be accepted as such.

Guns are sold as described and/or as seen and no refund will be made unless it can be shown that a product was misleadingly described, unless the item is specifically described in the listing as carrying a guarantee for a longer period. Where guns are sold on commission for third parties, we offer no guarantees and no responsibility will be accepted for the transaction unless the item sold is found to be out of proof or not legally obtained, in which case we will give a full refund. In the respect of commission sales we act as an agnt for the vendor.

No refund will be made for goods developing faults subsequent to sale unless specifically guaranteed in the listing (a fully refurbished gun for example). The majority of guns sold are antiques and therefore cannot be guaranteed, can be expected to have historical repairs and some age-related wear. These are part of the history of vintage guns and should not be considered faults.

All items sent via couriers, such as Parcelforce are sent at the owner's risk and are not insured. Vintage Guns Ltd accepts no responsibility for damaged or missing goods, once they have been dispatched in good order. Insurance for dispatched goods (up to full value) can be applied, for a fee to be agreed in advance, through our insurance scheme.

Gun Condition Reports

Gun condition reports are the opinion of the examiner, based on close examination of the gun or rifle. Photographs are of the actual gun or rifle on the day of the report. No responsibility is accepted regarding the accuracy of the opinion given and no refund or compensation is payable under any circumstances for a dispute regarding the accuracy or veracity of the opinion given.

Storage

All guns are stored at the agreed rate. Payments on account must be made every 12 months so that large debts do not accrue. If a gun is stored for 24 months and no payment has been made, we will endeavor to contact the owner for payment but in the event that no payment is made for a further six months, we reserve the right to sell the gun to recoup expenses. Any balance will be payable to the owner on demand.

Repairs and Servicing

All repair and other work is guaranteed for 6 months from delivery. Should the same fault re-occur, it will be remedied free of charge. We cannot take responsibility for the long term reliability of single trigger systems and ejector systems. Many of these mechanisms are now worn out and some were of poor design and likely to have always been unreliable. Others may have been damaged by previous work undertaken by insufficiently skilled gunsmiths. We will do our best to bring them to optimal function but repairs on these systems are not guaranteed.

Guns left for repair and not collected within six months of the invoice being sent may be sold at a valuation of our estimate of fair market value, in order for us to recoup the cost of the repairs. Any surplus monies received, over the cost of repairs, will be paid to the owner on demand.
