As a companion to the piece about re-case colour hardening old guns, it is interesting to look at the process of case colour hardening new ones. This film is from A.A. Brown & Sons, gunmakers in Birmingham. While St Ledger is the best known name in the UK for case hardening, Robin Brown, in my opinion, has the process to a tee. He is very skilled and experienced gunmaker with a genuine feel for what gives a gun elegance and balance aesthetically. The film, by Matthew Brown, is very well made and worth watching in its entirity.
