Alfred Lancaster's Gun in Action

Read Article v

Guns & Gunmakers|July 2023

Readers who enjoyed the article 'Me So Horny' in May's VGJ have asked to see the gun in action, so we have made a short film of it.

The gun is by Alfred Lancaster and dates from the early 1870s. It is made with a side-lever, on the Emme & Woodward patent action No. 267 of 1872.

The gun is a 12-bore, stocked with rhino horn (one piece), which remains in remarkable condition.

Cartridges used were Hull CompX, 21g lead loads, with fibre wads.
