Rachel Draper and Ian Sweetman have launched a social media platform for the gun trade, country sports lovers and people frustrated with the restrictions and bombardment with unwanted memes and advertisements that Facebook inficts on us these days.
Many users want a friends social network which links them to what their actual friends and associates are posting, not what companies or political agitators are paying Facebook to push into our feeds.
Add to that the censorship on Facebook of posts relating to guns, shooting or other activities and items that we discuss frequently as a normal part of our lives, and the need for a breakaway platform has been apparent for some time.
Rachel, who is developing a career writing for the shooting press and Ian, a former Purdey gun-maker, now managing his own firm, I.S Sweetman Gunmakers, have launched just the kind of social media network people have been asking for.
They have named it Stile, after the object country people use to get from one field into another without having to open a gate.
We would encourage readers of the Vintage Gun Journal to open a free account on Stile and see how it works for linking them with real friends and other interested people. There, photos and discussions of country topics, guns and shooting are not restriced or censored (as long as they are legal).
We have an account. Maybe see you there!
